“ TLDR: Siu Mai is one of the best I've had! Honestly, for the Siu Mai alone, this bakery is 4 stars. It's REALLY that good. Unfortunately, the other dishes were just... "okay". If everything else was good, this place would be 5 stars for sure. Knowing what we know now, we would have ordered 16 of those pieces. That's just one order! At first, we thought that's too much sui mai, so we got the combo B instead, where we could pick and choose the various dim sum. So as I mentioned before, GET the siu mai. It's really a top 5 dish for me. We also ordered the white BBQ bao. It was ok. Not enough filling, too much bread. But the bread is light and fluffy. We also ordered the egg custard bun. I didn't like that one as much. That bread is a bit rubbery. I also got a Louts-wrapped rice, which is normally one of my favorite dim sums. It was a bit under-flavored. I would prefer a stronger sauce and filling. The siu mai is definitely the star of the restaurant, and they know it, as it's the only dish that has 16!! pieces. Now if only they can improve the quality of their other stuff. ”

“ This bakery is truly "hole-in-the-wall" In the best way possible. I tried to explore a lot anytime I was in Reno for work. This bakery did not disappoint. It was the perfect Cantonese bakery. The perfect baos, fantastic dan tats, the coconut pudding was freaking fantastic. The first time I came here they didn't have everything I wanted, but the owner promised if I came back the next day he would have those things. Not his fault. I came in late during the day so I'm not surprised that they had run out of things because it was so late. Him in the next day and he had those things I wanted and they were fantastic. Highly recommended If you need that Chinese bakery fix. The prices are very fair. Would totally go back in a heartbeat. ”

“ Surprised to see an Asian bakery in Reno with good reviews, had to give it a try! Walked in and smelled sooo good. The man behind the counter was very nice and patient. Overall was solid but didn't blow me away. Probably the best spot to get Asian baked goods/dim sum in Reno though. Would be down to go back and try their hot food. Baked pork bun - 4/5 - Bun was mildly sweet and the pork hand a nice salty and peppery taste. Filled on the smaller end. Steamed pork bun - 3/5 - Bun was dry and pork filling seemed less than the baked version. Still good but had better. Shu Mai - 5/5 - Served steamed and juicy. I have to say this was the perfect shu mai, as the flavor of the meat were savory and fresh. Ham & Green Onion Pastry - 4/5 - More bread than filling, although it was moist. Had some sweetness which paired will with the onion and savory ham, Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling) - 3/5 - The noodle was soft and the shrimp seemed fresh. Milk Bun - 2/5 - I must say it was sweet and tasty although the cream left a very pasty/slimy after taste in my mouth. ”

“ Ordered a cake for my grandmas 90th Birthday at Honey Bakery a couple weeks ago for today 8/17/24. The process was pretty easy choosing cake size, flavors and decoration. We opted for fresh strawberries and mango 14" on bottom and 10" on top (Served 50 people). Cake was beautifully decorated and everyone loved the cake! Just how we imagined it would be, spongy, moist and sweetened to perfection. Cake was packed in a very convenient box with handles which was very useful getting into the car and out. Service was prompt and cake was ready at promised time. We will be ordering from Honey Bakery in the near future for our next event. ”

Bakery is small but clean. They also offer baked goodies such as cakes, bread, and pastries. Party trays are also available. I will definitely recommend this place. ”

“ I haven't updated a review since my review of the day in 2016. I love this Chinese bakery and, from time to time, drop in with my family or sneak treats with my oldest. My kids love this bakery as much as I do. Family owned and operated, the owner greeted me on this last visit that he hadn't seen us in a while. I joked that I was watching my carbs. Lol, I hadn't been in a while because I have no willpower when it comes to food! Sorry, coach, if you're reading this. The owner has changed a few things on this menu since reopening after Covid. They serve dim sum, more bakery items, and only a variety of buns for the day; get there at opening to have your pick. Sesame balls are a must here! Taro and egg custard are my favorite sweet buns, and their chicken curry and pork buns are my favorite savory buns. I tried a few new desserts, a single egg yolk pastry, a Taro su, and a taro roll cake. I would highly recommend it all! My daughter had to try the taro cake roll because they were out of the taro buns already. Can you tell we love Taro? It's our island roots. It's just a quaint little shop locally owned and operated. Honey bakery is located in the Savemart shopping center off of Keystone. Tip: Double-check posted hours. They close for a month from January-February. The owner is great about posting when he closes the shop. Dim sum is made to order, so give yourself time to wait. I always come back. ”
